If is an essential part of this competitive world where you are required to keep updating your knowledge base in order to stay up with changing times whether at work place or at home.
Imagine simple things as using your microwave or operating a vacuum cleaner, if you are a person who has always thought that technology is not meant for you, you will never get over this mental hurdle and stay way behind the times when the new generation is talking all about software operated gadgets. Therefore, in order to not staying behind in the fast moving world, one should be always self-motivated in increasing the knowledge base. This comes in very handy not only in daily life, but it can be more aptly applied in a working environment.

Making an extra effort to learn new things means you are increasing your capacity of knowing. It makes you feel self elevated even in simple situations such as a group discussion where with your extra effort you have been able to contribute a vital piece of latest information and everybody else appreciates it.
One should always be a good listener. If you feel you cannot spend hours reading, listen carefully to what people around you are talking when they are speaking to you. It is also an important tool of learning something new. Be open to discussions.
One should understand that any extra knowledge is never harmful. It will always be useful to you. You will never feel out of place in any kind of discussion which will increase your confidence and also motivate you to always keep learning.
For that extra self-motivation always remember that a human being is always a learner. The knowledge of no person can ever be complete. There is always a scope to learn more at each step.

How to Avoid Negative Marking in Bank Exams?

We all know the saying "practice makes a man perfect" and the same goes for the examination. Preparation and practice goes hand in hand. First priority should be given to the preparation of the entrance examination. This will build the platform on which practice as a tool will make you acquaintance with the pattern of the question. By this a student will also identify his or her weak lings and will check every time when they will face such questions. If an aspirant is able to gather such attributes and make it his own abilities then negative marking will surely avoid his pathway to success.
Practice There is a common saying ‘Practice makes a person perfect’. So the more you practice, the more you become trained in avoiding silly mistakes & in turn help in reducing negative marking. Most of the bank exams have 120-150 questions which are to be solved in approx. 3 hours. So you must try to solve in short cut methods & try to develop easy problem skills so that time is saved.
Short notes preparation Try to prepare notes of important formulae, theorems etc. This will help to have a look before the exam as going through the book is difficult at that time.
Analyze the question paper – Before starting to solve the question paper, analyze it carefully in 10 mins as this will give you a rough idea about what type of questions are there & you can manage the time accordingly.
Cool & Calm rule Be cool & calm in the examination hall. If you are anxious & tensed, stressed, chances of attempting the question paper wrongly are very much. This will lead to negative marking.
Answer the sure shot questions Firstly answer only those questions for which you are very confident about. Sticking on questions will lead to confusion & time wastage.
No guessing Do not guess the answer until you are sure. Guessing often leads to wrong attempt.
No erasing or overwriting- Mostly in all the bank exams, OMR answer sheets are used. This OMR sheets are checked by computer, so improper erasing or overwriting will be considered as wrong.

Data Sufficiency

Data sufficiency questions are probably not like any test problem you've encountered before. They don't ask you to answer the question. Instead, they ask you to determine whether or not you can answer the question with the information given. Every data sufficiency question should be answered by continuing with the same technique. Simply by determining the sufficiency of just one statement, you should be able to eliminate approximately half of the answer choices. That way, you should be able to avoid completely random guessing on data sufficiency questions.
A data sufficiency question has a question followed by two statements. you will be expected to answer if the information provided in the statements is sufficient to answer the question.
You answer will be
Choice 1 if the question can be answered using one of the statements alone, while the other statement is not sufficient to answer the question.
Choice 2 if the question can be answered using each of the statements independently
Choice 3 if both the statements together are needed to answer the question
Choice 4 if both the statements independently or taken together are not sufficient to answer the question
Please be careful to read the instructions before the data sufficiency questions.
Some probable mistakes can be avoided
1) To be more specific, please do read the instructions for Data Sufficiency (DS) very carefully.

Many people have suffered here. Hope we don’t repeat it this time.

2) Read the instructions on the front page carefully. Don’t ignore them.

Data sufficiency questions to test your ability to "reason quantitatively." This stands in sharp contrast to the problem solving section, which is designed to test how well you manipulate numbers. If you find yourself doing a lot of number crunching on the data sufficiency questions, you are doing something wrong.
Math Concepts You Should Know
The data sufficiency questions cover math that nearly any college-bound high school student will know. In addition to basic arithmetic, you can expect questions testing your knowledge of averages, fractions, decimals, algebra, factoring, and basic principles of geometry such as triangles, circles, and how to determine the areas and volumes of simple geometric shapes.

Avoid Distraction While Studying

Most of the students are astonished to know that learning is not easily absorbed by the brain. This is the belief that most of the adults cherish by assuming that brain’s only purpose is to learn and therefore expect that their children should be capable of learning in a faster pace. The actual reality is that the main purpose of the brain is to guarantee the survival of the learning. The best way to help our brain in remembering the boring stuff requires you to give some extra help to your brain by removing the necessary distractions that may arise in your studies. The human brain focuses on a single thing at a time. So, here are a few tips that can help you to eliminate distractions while you study.
    Tips for eliminating possible distractions:
1. Make your own study area: It is you who has to decide the best possible place away from all the distractions for studies.  If your study area is close to a window, then you may get distracted at the sight that you see through the window. If you keep your visual field confined to education then you can have a better focus.
2. You can play instrumental music if you wish but without the words: Instrumental music can ease your stress and provide you a better learning environment. But one has to see that the instrumental music is not associated with the words of the song else you will end up humming the same and distract yourself from the studies.
3. Plan your study schedule and time: Choose the best time that can help you in retaining the information. You have to make a study schedule based on the said time frame and continue studying consistently. Stock your study area with all the educational supplies that you need to study along with a water bottle.
4. Studying on PC? Face your screen towards the family area: When you face your screen towards the family area, then you will automatically avoid possibly entering and wandering your head into your world of cyber technology and focus on your studies.
5. You can also include your family in deciding upon the removal of possible study distractions: Turn off your phones and ask you family members to co-operate in this task of yours.
6] Cell phone is the kryptonite of studies. One message or call will take your mind completely off of studies and your focus won’t be back until you check who the person is. The best way to avoid this problem is to put your cell phone on silent (Not even vibration), and turn its face down.  It might seem drastic, but even the slightest beep or light will ruin your studies.
You may feel that this distraction free routine is extremely difficult to establish but with proper planning and effort you will automatically be able to focus on your studies and avoid possible distractions.
Determination is one of the key factors when it comes to bank exam preparation. Strong determination will help you to remain focused on the exams and eventually it will help you to achieve your goals.

Non Verbal Reasoning

Non verbal reasoning is all reasoning that is not verbal reasoning and verbal reasoning is the ability of reasoning by using concepts framed in words. So actually non verbal reasoning is a term which stands for a broad range of reasoning skills like e.g. abstract reasoning, diagrammatic reasoning, spatial, numerical reasoning and many more.
Non-verbal reasoning involves drawing conclusions based on a set of facts either fictional or non fictional. Exercises include activities like describing the similarities and differences between two pictures, finding the shape that does not belong in a sequence of shapes, predicting what shape should next appear in the sequence, and so on. Non-verbal reasoning exercises can also include numerical activities. In our everyday life even though speech is the most obvious form of communication. One’s non verbal reasoning skills are an invaluable asset, since people are constantly bombarded by non verbal impulses, signals and gestures. Actually people use their non verbal intelligence much more than their verbal intelligence. Almost everything you will encounter in life you will first judge by visual interpretation, because this is simply the easiest, fastest and it can be done without drawing attention to oneself. So your first impression of something or somebody is almost always based on your non verbal reasoning skills. For example if you try to judge somebody on their looks you are actually using non verbal reasoning to do this.
Non-verbal reasoning is also called fluid reasoning. It is an intentional cognitive process that does not occur automatically. It involves the use of deliberate and controlled mental operations to solve  problems. Mental operations often include drawing inferences and forming concepts when language is not involved. This of course can be practiced and non verbal intelligence can be trained.

Verbal Reasoning

People generally assume that their verbal reasoning skills are relatively sharp because they engage in conversations and engage in at least some light reading regularly. The differentiation between someone with poor verbal reasoning skills and someone with excellent verbal reasoning skills lies in one's ability to read or listen critically and to pick out pertinent information. Pertinent information can include known facts, specific opinions, statistics, sources, fallacies, and the like.
Tests for verbal reasoning skills, especially those on standardized tests, usually take the same form. Such tests determine one's ability to understand question, to differentiate facts from assumptions, and to think logically.
Individuals use their verbal reasoning skills in various ways at work, mainly through oral communication and/or reading written information. Strong verbal reasoning skills are a key prerequisite for many different jobs that involve frequent communication (emails, reports, or oral communication) and the ability to quickly and effectively interpret complex verbal information. When recruiting for many job roles there is a need to differentiate those with high verbal reasoning ability from those with poor verbal reasoning skills. Sales personnel, for example, require persuasive verbal reasoning skills, and managers must adapt their communication style depending on their audience. Thus, many employers now make extensive use of verbal reasoning tests as a key part of their standard recruitment processes.
Verbal reasoning tests allow employers and university admissions officers to assess such skills of a large number of applicants in a standardized way. The same verbal reasoning test is given to a large number of applicants, which increases the fairness of the application process – whilst also making the process more efficient.  A well-designed verbal reasoning test offers both a reliable and a valid means of assessment.
These tests are widely used since most jobs require you either to understand and make decisions based on verbal or written information or to pass this type of information to others. In practice, the more straightforward types of question (spelling, grammar and instructions) tend to be more applicable to administrative roles and the reasoning and deduction type of questions to management roles.

Verbal Reasoning Preparation

Like any other test you’ve ever taken in your life, the right preparation can improve your test results. Although you cannot significantly improve your oral and written verbal communication skills within a short time, you can learn and practice verbal reasoning test strategies and so reduce your stress levels which will quickly improve your performance. Mastering any ability or skill is no joke. It does not happen overnight. It has to be developed, worked upon and acquired through hard work, practice and persistence. A lot of applicants fail to understand this and they adopt the odd way of learning.

Another important reason for preparing for the verbal reasoning test is that your results are always compared against those of others. So even if you have a Bachelor in English Literature or you are an avid reader of English Literature, other people who are applying for the same role are likely to have a similar level of verbal reasoning skills. So you can get the edge you need by preparing for a verbal reasoning test which is appropriate to the role you applied for.
1) Practice vocabulary questions: Practice not only do you learn a great deal from your mistakes, you also avoid committing those mistakes. A point to be noted is that the vocabulary section guarantees high returns with minimum time investment. Pay adequate attention to the vocabulary section because it makes all the difference between a great score and a good score.
2) Increasing your reading pace: Sometimes, those who are good at comprehension suffer when it comes to quickly reading the passage. You need to be able to read quickly to attempt passages. It is highly recommended that you read similar passages in magazines and newspapers. This way you can increase your speed gradually. You need to strike a fine balance between ’speed’ and ‘comprehension’. This is where your managerial skills come into play and this is exactly what is tested by the examiners.
